VACANCIES AT SHEHU IDRIS COLLEGE OF HEALTH SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGY, MAKARFI, KADUNA STATE.



This College invites interested eligible candidates from Kaduna state, from within and without of the College to fill vacant posts of Registrar and College Librarian.

Position: REGISTRAR:

Duties:

a.       Responsible to the Provost for the day-to-day Administration of the Institute
b.      Taking charge of the Registry Department
c.       Serves as the Chief Administrative Officer
d.      Functioning as Secretary to all statutory Committees
e.      Responsible for keeping all the records in the Institution.


QUALIFICATION:

·         A good Honours degree plus a Master’s degree in Public Administration, Management Sciences or other Social Sciences and Humanities from a recognized University
·         At least 15 years cognate experience
·         Or a holder of Doctorate degree plus, at least 12 years cognate work experience out of which he must have served as a deputy Registrar in a tertiary institution accredited by NBTE or NCCE or NUC.
·         In either of the three above, the last 9 years of the applicants’ work experience should be in Registry Department of a tertiary Institution accredited by NBTE, or NCCE, or NUC and a member of recognized professional body.

Position: COLLEGE LIBRARIAN:

Duties:
a.       Head of Library and Information Department and a Principal Officer in the College
b.      Framing overall Library policy, personal contacts and liaison with Schools/Departments
c.       Preparation of Library budgets
d.      Responsible to provost for the smooth running of Library of the College e.g attending meetings as member of National Library Association (N.L.A), Library committee etc.
e.      Member of Academic Board and Management Committee of the College

QUALIFICATION:
Possession of M.L.S not below a Deputy Chief Librarian with 15 years cognate work experience or B.L.S, plus Post-graduate qualification in Library studies with 16 years or a suitable Chief Librarian with 14 years work experience.

·         Registration with a recognized professional body is essential
·         Demonstrable ability to offer Academic Administrative leadership.
·         Evidence of distinction in a particular field of specialization and
·         Demonstrable ability to take on added responsibility
·         Evidence of Publications and community service

TERMS OF APPOINTMENT:
Both positions are on term appointment for a period of four (4) years in the first instance and may be eligible for re-appointment for a period of another four years only.

SALARY
Same with the Salaries and entitlements of similar positions in the Kaduna state Tertiary Institutions.
