Malaria Consortium (www.malariaconsortium.org) is one of the world’s leading non-profit organizations dedicated to the comprehensive control of malaria and other communicable diseases in Africa and Southeast Asia. Malaria Consortium works with communities, Government and non-governmental agencies, academic institutions, local and international organizations; to ensure good evidence support delivery of effective services, providing technical support for monitoring and evaluation of program and activities for evidence-based decision –making and strategic planning.
Malaria Consortium (MC) recently
received a grant with focus on bringing seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC)
to scale in seven Countries in the Sahel. Its major responsility is to impement
monthly drug administration to children during malaria transmission period and
Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) for prevention and reduction of malaria
effect.
Malaria Consortium has been in
operation in Nigeria since 2008. To fully expand it terms of establishment, it
now seeks to recruit a programme Officer for employment opportunity in its
Country office located in Abuja:
POSITION; PROGRAMME
OFFFICER: (Abuja)
The Programme officer will provide
operational and financial coordination to the programme partnership agreement
(PPA) activities and other assignmed projects within Malaria Consortium
Nigeria. She/he will report directly to the Country Programme Manager and work
closely with the in – Country Programme Management Team, Technical Coordinator
and the UK/PPA Coordinator.
key responsibilities will
include;

Coordinate all inputs from the Country Office
towards completing all grant application and planning documents for PPA
initiatives
·
Manage and organize maintenance of project
registers, development of PPA initiatives progress report and briefing on the
implementation of the PPA initiatives.
·
Work closely with the Finance team to follow up
with all the PPA grants in Nigeria.
·
Contribute to business development, preparation
of proposals and conducting of field research.
·
Create and maintain constant declaration to the
terms of reference and reports.
·
Provide support on filing documentation and
other secretarial assignment
·
Provide support in the organization of the
seminar programme or workshop and training
Qualifications: Interested
candidate must have a degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Project
management or related discipline. Must have at least 5 years’ experience in
project management with demonstrable experience in project planning, evaluation
and monitoring. The ideal candidate must be result oriented, motivated with
excellent communication skills. The candidate must have certificate In the use
of Microsoft office packages.
