Established in 1915, Helen Keller International (HKI) works
to save the lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantage. We combat the causes
and consequences of malnutrition by establishing program based on evidence and
research in vision, health and nutrition. Headquartered in New York City, HKI
currently conducts programs in as countries in Africa and Asia as well as in
the United states.
BACKGROUND:
Since 1995, HKI has supported programs in the area of
neglected tragical disease control, nutrition and eye health. Currently Helen
Keller International (HKI) works in all states of the federation through its
partnership with state governments and stakeholders at various levels.
EMPLOYMENT
OPPORTUNITY:
HKI is looking to hire suitable candidates to fill the
following positions within its rapidly expanding program portfolio:
-
Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) Program Manager
– based in Abuja
-
Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist on the
SPRING project – based in Abuja
-
Driver – based in Katsina
REQUIREMENTS:
NEGLECTED TROPICAL DISEASE (NTD)
PROGRAM MANAGER:
·
Minimum of Masters degree in science, medicine
or health-related field
·
Master of public health or similar qualification
·
Minimum of 5 years experience managing HIV,
malaria or other infectious disease programs.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION SPECIALIST
ON THE SPRING PROJECT:
·
Master’s degree in public health, statistics or
related social science
·
Computer skills demonstrating competency in MS
Office and at least one statisitical package such as SPSS or STATA
·
A minimum of four years’ work experience, two of
which should include work in monitoring and evaluation related to international
public health, M & E experience should relate to the use of measurement
method required for monitoring, evaluation or research in international public
health programs in at least one of the following
household surveys, health facility assessments, routine data sources,
operations research, qualitative research or routine health information
systems. Experience in primary data collection and /or analysis of quantitative
or qualitative data is highly desirable.

Interest in health, nutrition, and /or other
development issues
·
Experience supporting public health projects
with a health and nutrition
·
Experience with projects funded by the United
States Government (USG), particularly the United States Agency for
International Development (USAID)
DRIVER:
·
Qualification Secondary Education, valid
Driver’s license
·
Experience 3-2 years’ work experience as a
driver, safe driving record; knowledge of driving rules and regulations and
skills in minor vehicle repair
·
Language Requirements. Fluency in Hausa will be
an added advantage
