The International Institution of Tropical Agriculture seeks
suitable Nigerian Nationals for the position below at the Institute’s Headquarters,
Ibadan and its station in Abuja.
1.
Position: PROJECT ADMINISTRATOR
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the
following duties:
·
Assist the project Manager in ensuring that
activities are completed on time, within budget and meet quality assurance
standards. This will include developing and implementing plans for monitoring
project progress as well as scheduling
·
Establish and maintain project management
information system
·
Develop and maintain plans to support the
project including analyses of tasks, schedules and resources needed
·
Monitor project adherence to the funding
requirements
·
Track expenditures and report monthly on the
status of the project budget
·
Plan for resources needed to support project
implementation and assist with procurement of required items in consultation
with IITA’s Supply
Qualification,
Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate must possess:
·
M.A or M.SC degree in Management, Business
Administration, Biological Sciences, Social Sciences or related field
·
A minimum of four (4) years experience in a
similar position
·
Project management qualification (e.g Prince 2
or Microsoft Project) and demonstrated project management skills
·
Experience in working with governments,
multinationals and bilateral development agencies and civil society
organizations
·
Experience with budget preparation and
monitoring and project activity monitoring.
·
Experience in supervising support teams
·
Ability to meet tight deadlines for various
activities
·
Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple
tasks, paying attention
2.
Position: PROJECT ASSISTANT
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate will among other things perform the
following duties:
·
Maintain the project partner and stakeholder
database, making sure the database is populated and data is kept up-to-date
·
Maintain website of the breeding community of
practice through a mechanism of regular updates and communication with relevant
stakeholders
·
Assist in data management including
documentation of baseline data collected in the various countries
·
Assist in developing information sharing
products and putting together training materials
·
Assist in compiling reports to the donors
·
Assist in organizing meetings and training
events
·
Perform any other duties as may be assigned as
your supervisor.
Qualification,
Experience , and Skills:
The ideal candidates must possess B.SC/HND in Social
Sciences, Arts or Related discipline
·
A minimum of two years (2) years experience in a
similar position
·
Database management
·
Good knowledge of online social media tools
·
Good computer skills, MS Office application (use
of document management applications, software for publishing and lay-outing
will be an advantage
·
Good communication skills, especially written
communication
·
Good skills in data analysis
·
Good event management skills
·
Ability to work independently and ability to
acquire skills quickly (fast leaner)
·
Self-motivated and pro-active person, willing to
take initiative
·
Excellent command of English Language, knowledge
of French or Hausa will be an advantage.
