Institute of Government and Social Research (IGSR) is
non-profit , non-political, non-religious and non-governmental research
oriented organization based in Jos. IGSR is implementing a 3 years
Peace-Building Project in Jos and its environs, funded by Nigeria Stability and
Reconciliation Programe (NSRP) and UK Department for International Development
(DFID). As part of the organization’s staff capacity building, it seeks to
employ experience, intelligent creative and dynamic persons to join the project
team. The following positions are available for employment:
1.
PROGRAMME MANAGER:
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s degree with 10
years experience or a Master’s degree with at least 5 years experience in
project management, especially in conflict matters. The Programme manager
should be responsible for;
i.
Coordinating all project activities, while
working with Output/Component Oficers and Stakeholders in Various sub-committee
to achieve results
ii.
Reporting to the Project leader/President on the
progress of the Project
iii.
Preparing quarterly and annual narrative reports
iv.
Preparing operational work plan in line with the
existing log frame and
v.
Any other matter related to the management of
the project
2.
MONITORING AND EVALUATION (M&E)
Manager: Candidate must possess a Bachelor degree with at
least 7 years experience in program work and good analytical skills and
experience in monitoring programme process and its indicators, report writing,
evaluation. A Master’s degree will be added advantage. The M&E Manager will
be responsible for:
i.
Developing M&E plan of Action
ii.
Monitoring progress of project implementation
and report to the Project Leader
iii.
Organizing periodic evaluation of the in the
intended impact of the project
iv.
Preparing the M & E reports; and
v.
Any other matters related to the monitoring and
evaluation of the project
3.
FINANCE MANAGER:
Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or
any related field with at least 10 years experience in the field especially
working with NGOs. The Finance Manager will be responsible for:
i.
The Account Department of the project
ii.
Manage all finance allocations and maintain
financial records, books and ensure compliance with all financial policies
iii.
Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial
reports prior to its submission.
iv.
Report to the Project Leader on the Financial
status of the Project, and
v.
Any other matter related to the management of
the project
4.
PROGRAMME OFFICER:
Qualified candidate must possess a Bachelor’s of Science
(B.Sc) in Social Sciences. Bachelor’s in Law (LL.B) and the Humanities and must
have made a Second Class Upper Division in the Degree examination, good
experience in research Methodology is an added advantage. The Programme officer
will be responsible for:
i.
An output/component activity of the project
which will be assigned to him/her
ii.
Work closely with the Programme Manager (who)
he/she reports to): and as well as any other matter related to the management
of the project.
All positions are for one years, on contract basis, and
renewable for two years, depending on effective and satisfactory performance.
