INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL VACANCIES AT RENAISSANCE UNIVERSITY ENUGU

Renaissance University (RNU) Ugbawka, Enugu state invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the under-mentioned academic staff positions in his new Faculty of Law commencing in the 2014/2015 academic session as follows:

A.      Professors

B.      Associate Professor

C.      Senior Lecturers

D.      Lecturer I

E.       Lecturer II

F.       Assistant Lecturers

A.      PROFESSOR:

The Professor is senior academic staffs who are to provide administrative and academic leadership in the Faculty. He will be responsible to the Vice Chancellor through the Dean of the Faculty.

Qualification and Experience:

i.                     Must have a doctorate degree in Law and be a respected authority in the field of Law.

ii.                   Must be versatile in research activities and able to show evidence of continuing research and publications

iii.                  Must have considerable administrative experience as Head of Department, Dean of Faculty or Provost of College in a University

iv.                 Must have considerable teaching experience

v.                   Must have a minimum of ten (10) yeas doctorial research and teaching experience in the Faculty of Law of a University and show demonstrative evidence of ability to hold administrative position in the Faculty of Law of a University

B.      ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR

Qualification and Experience: Same as required under (A) above.

C.      SENIOR LECTURER:

The Senior lecturer is a Senior Academic staff of the Faculty responsible to the Dean for the discharge of academic and /or administrative duties that may be assigned to him /her.

DUTIES;

i.                     Undertaking programme and course planning and development and delivery

ii.                   Reviewing and determining acceptability of course developers

iii.                  Monitoring the progress of course development

iv.                 Undertaking examination duties such as preparation of examination questions, marking scheme and marking of answer scripts

v.                   Undertaking research activities, workshops, tutorials and seminars

vi.                 Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Dean of the Faculty or the Vice –Chancellor or from time to time.

D.      LECTURER I:

Qualification, Experience and Duties same as Senior Lecturer except that a minimum of six (6) years post-doctoral research and teaching experience in a University is required.

E.       LECTURER II:

Qualification and Experience;

i.                     Applicants for the post of Lecturer II must possess not less than Second Lass (Upper) first degree and Masters degree both in Law from an NUC approved University ans must have registered for his/her doctoral degree.

ii.                   Candidates must possess a minimum of eight (8) years teaching experience in Law Faculty in any NUC approved University.

F.       ASSISTANT LECTURER:

Qualification and Experience;

i.                     Required is as in E (i)

ii.                   Candidates should possess a minimum of two (2) years teaching experience in Law Faculty of an approved University by NUC.
