The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Jos Sub delegation is looking for a qualified candidate with the capacity to fill in the following interesting position:

Position: FIELD OFFICER

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES;

·         In close collaboration with the first Aid Responsible Abuja, is the local person for the first Aid activities under the management of Jos Sub- Delegation

·         Assist the delegate in running field activities for emergency interventions, communications and networking activities.

·         Contribute to the implementation and running of specific projects/programs and the analysis of the situation

·         Maintains contacts with beneficiaries, civil society action, local Red Cross Branches concerning their particular programmes, population, suppliers etc. under supervision

·         Makes written reporting on the activities undertaken including the collection of statistical data.

·         Collects information on the situation in the field and reports to the delegate

·         Plans and organizes field trips to follow up on activities in the field

·         Assist in health related activities as requested including distribution of emergency medical supplies

·         Acts as an interpreter in any situation with accuracy and translates all kinds of documents from Hausa to English and vice versa

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION:

·         A University degree in relevant field

·         First Aid knowledge with a valid First Aid certificate

·         2 years work experience in a similar field

·         Good command of written and spoken English and Hausa

·         Good computer skills, good command of standard software and knowledge of internet search

·         Good Knowledge of geographically assigned environment

·         Good analytical skills

·         Capacity to apply ICRC rules and procedure

·         Capacity of treating information confidentially
