Institute for policy and Studies, Kuru,
Jos.
1.
SECRETARY/DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION
– CONRAISS 15
The Secretary/Director of
Administration shall be responsible to the Director-General for the general
administration and finances of the National Institute. As the Head of the
Directorate of Administration and Secretary to the Board of Governors of the
Institute, he/she will oversee all administrative matters, advising,
coordinating and supervising all the Departments and Units, serves as Chairman,
Senior Staff appointments, Promotions and Disciplinary Committee and will also
be responsible to the Board of Governors of the National Institution.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates should possess a good
Honours degree and an M.SC/M.A, or a Ph.D in any of the Social Sciences with
vast experience in Administration in any of the Government Ministries,
Departments, Agencies, Tertiary or Strategies Institutions in Nigeria or
abroad. He/she must have risen to the rank of a Director(or has been a Deputy
Registrar/Deputy Director for at least five years). Candidates must have
national exposure with at least 20 years experience. The position is for a
single term of 5 years, non-renewable, while candidates must be within the age
bracket of 50-55 years. Membership of the National Institute (mni) would be an
advantage.
2.
DIRECTOR OF STUDIES –CONRAISS 15
The Director Studies shall be
responsible to the Director –General for organizing and conducting the Senior
Executive Course (SEC) of the National Institute. Candidates should be
committed scholars in strategy, policy, history, economics, and international
relations. Regardless of field of studies, prospective candidates must have
sound understanding of public policy environment in Nigeria. The position is
for a term of 2 years which may be renewed for another period of 2 years. Candidates
must be within the age bracket of 50-65 years.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates should possess a Ph.D
in either the Liberal Arts or the Social Sciences with not less than 20 years cognate
experience in a University, Research or Strategic Institution, Public or
private organization, and must have attained the position of a professor in
his/her area of specialization for at least 7 years candidates should have
ability to initiate, develop and supervise policy oriented researches. Candidates
should provide evidence leadership experience with inter-disciplinary groups
and sufficient scholarly contributions in reputable journals and books. A good
knowledge of NIPSS would be an advantage.
3.
DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH – CONRAISS 15
The Director of Research shall be
responsible to the Director-General for coordinating the research staff,
research activities and projects of the Institute, collation and publication of
research materials. He/she will be responsible for all the issues connected with
research and ensure effective coordination of the research activities of the
NTIONAL Institute. The position is for a term of 2 years which may be renewed
for another period of 2 years. Candidates must be within the age bracket of
50-65 years.
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates should possess a Ph.D
in either the Liberal Arts or the Social Sciences with not less than 20 years cognate
experience in a University, Research or Strategic Institution, Public or
private organization, and must have attained the position of a professor in
his/her area of specialization for at least 7 years. Candidates should have
ability to initiate, develop and supervise policy and strategy- oriented
researches. Candidates should provide evidence of work and leadership
experience with inter-disciplinary groups and sufficient proof of scholarly
contributions in reputable journals and books. A good knowledge of NIPSS would
be an advantage.
4.
DIRECTING STAFF – CONRAISS 15/14
Candidates should be Professor or
Associate Professor and Possesses a Ph.D in the Liberal Arts, Social Sciences
or applied sciences. The prospective candidates should have at least fifteen
(15) years postdoctoral academic experience in tertiary, research or strategic
Institutions.
In all cases, administrative and
collaborative research experience would be added advantages. Candidates must be
within the age bracket of 50-60 years. The position is for a term of 2 years
which may be renewed for another period of 2 years.
5.
RESEARCH PROFESSORS (CONRAISS 15)
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates for the position of Professors should
possess a Ph.D in the relevant fields preferably in the Liberal Arts, Social
Sciences or Applied Sciences to fill vacancies in the Deparments of Social
Studies, Media, Culture and Gender Studies, Science and Technology,
International Affairs, Security and Strategic Studies and must have wide
exposure in policy and strategy- oriented researches. The prospective candidates
should have at least fifteen (15) years postdoctoral cognate research
experience plus evidence of at least 10 scholarly publications in reputable journals
and must have attended and presented 12 conference and seminar/workshop papers.
6.
ASSOCIATE PROFESSORS (CONRAISS 14)
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates for the position of Associate
Professors must possess a Ph.D in the relevant fields preferably in the Economics,
Natural, Environmental, Agricultural, International Relations, Defence and
Security, Peace and Strategic Studies and must have wide exposure in policy and
strategy- oriented research. In addition, candidates must have at least twelve
(12) years post-qualification cognate research experience.
7.
SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWS (CONRAISS
13)
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates for the position of Senior
Fellows must possess a Ph.D in the relevant fields preferably in the Economics,
Natural, Environmental, Agricultural, International Relations, Defence and
Security, Peace and Strategic Studies and must have wide exposure in policy and
strategy- oriented research. In addition, candidates must have 9 years post-qualification
cognate research experience plus evidence of at least 7 scholarly publications
in reputable journals and must have attended and presented 5 conference and
seminar/workshop papers.
8.
FELLOWS (CONRAISS 11)
Qualifications and
Experience:
Candidates for the position of Senior
Fellows must possess a Ph.D / M.SC/M.A in the relevant fields preferably in the
Economics, Natural, Environmental, Agricultural, International Relations,
Defence and Security, Peace and Strategic Studies and must have wide exposure
in policy and strategy- oriented research. In addition, candidates must have 5
years post-qualification cognate research experience plus evidence of at least
5 scholarly publications in reputable journal and must have attended and
presented 5 conference and seminar/workshop papers.
METHOD OF
