Insurance company with over 25 years operation in the country is seeking
application from suitably qualified candidates for the position of:
HEAD OF WRITING, AGRIC INSURANCE
DESK:
Job Description:
The candidate shall be responsible for the following duties:
1.
Underwriting and management of Agricultural
Insurance Portfolio of the company
2.
Research and advise on the best risk management
approach for the company’s Agricultral Insurance Portfolio
3.
Conduct pre-loss survey on agricultural
insurance risk and prepare reports fro underwriting purposes.
4.
Report agricultural insurance portfolio premium
and claims on a regular bases to management through the Divisional Head of
Technical.
QUALIFICATION:
1.
A relevant degree in Agriculture, Agric
Economics, Insurance, Acturial Science or Social Sciences
2.
7-10 years relevant working experience in
Insurane industry out of which 5 years must be in the management and
underwriting of agricultural insurance risks.
ATTRIBUTES
1.
Well organized, pro-active, hands-on individual
with excellent leadership skills to build team work and coordinate activities
and individual towards attaining organizational objectives
2.
Entrepreneurial drive and the willingness to
scale-up Agricultural Insurance portfolio from a start-up into a profit making
unit
3.
The person must be able to familiarize
him/herself quickly with the field of Agricultural insurance
4.
Demonstrable insurance sales management and underwriting
experience is required
5.
A thorough understanding of local insurance
regulations, procedures and practices relating to Agric insurance
6.
Good knowledge and skills in Microsoft
applications
