EXCITING OPPORTUNITIES IN PHARMACEUTICAL MANUFACTURING



Our client is a leading Pharmaceutical company based in Lagos involved in Marketing strong brands that are market leaders, currently sales operations of the company span across the markets in the all the regions of the country. As a result of ta strategic structural reorganization involving vertical integration of operations, her state of the art manufacturing facilities in Otta, Ogun State are ready for commencement of operations. Consequently the company urgently requires self- motivated staff with track record of achievements in previous factory operational positions, to fill the following positions:
Position: MICROBIOLOGIST:
The Microbiologist will report to the Quality Control/Assurance Manager and will be responsible for carrying out microbial analysis of raw materials, raw mater, demineralized water, intermediate and finished product goods as well as antimicrobial susceptibility and of antibiotics.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Microbial analysis of raw materials , water, intermediate and finished products as per approved microbial methods
·         Preparation of reagents and solutions for microbial analysis, ensuring proper identification and labeling, safe keeping of such reagents and solutions, samples standards in line with GLP
·         Calibrate, revalidate and maintenance of all laboratory instruments/equipment and tools as per SOP
·         Maintaining , monitoring and ensuring good personal and personnel’s hygiene and environmental cleanliness and orderliness in line with CGMP requirements
Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A good Bachelor’s degree /HND in Microbiology or Laboratory Science Technology
·         Not less than five(5) years cognate experience in a top class manufacturing company and a track record of achievement in previous employments
·         Good communication and interpersonal skills
·         Good level of computer literacy.
Position: CHEMICAL ANALYST:
The Analyst will report to the Quality Control/Assurance Manager and will be responsible for monitoring and carrying out chemical analysis of raw /portal/demineralized water, raw materials/finished/intermediate product as per approved specification to meet intended standards.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Ensure good laboratory practice and safety throughout the duration of working hours in the laboratory
·         Physicochemical analysis of raw materials, finished and intermediate products, raw/portable / demineralized water.
·         In process checks on line during processing of products via tableting, capsulation and blistering
Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A good Bachelor’s degree /HND in Chemistry or Biochemistry
·         A minimum of five(5) years cognate experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing establishment
·         Good level of computer literacy
Position: IN PROCESS CONTROL OFFICER:
The In Process Control Officer will report to the Quality Control/Assurance Manager and will be responsible for carrying out check of tablets parameters to ensure the integrity of products hardness, thickness and leakages and documenting in line with GMP
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Conduct regular process checks of tablets parameters- hardness, thickness, and leakage test.
·         Documentation and record keeping and line clearance
·         Ensure GMP in factory operations
Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A good Bachelor’s degree /HND in any of the Natural Sciences.
·         A minimum of five (5) years cognate experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
·         Good level of computer literacy.
Position: PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR:
The In Production Supervisor will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for the supervision of all manufacturing activities, procedures and process of manufacturing (e.g weighing, mixing, /granulation, sifting, blending, compression, encapsulation, blistering, packaging, etc.) as per SOP and current GMP.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Working in conjunction with the Production Pharmacist to ensure that current SOP’s and GMP are followed during product processing
·         Designing strategies and ensuring enhanced man –hour utilization of all operatives in order to meet production targets.
·         Taking daily production plan/instruction from the production Pharmacist
·         Ensuring that the materials required for daily production are validated and collected from the warehouse and accounted for as directed by Production Pharmacist.
Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A good Bachelor’s degree /HND in any of the Natural Sciences.
·         A minimum of five (5) years cognate experience in pharmaceutical factory.
·         Ability to operate at least one production Machine.
Position: BLISTERING OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR:
The Blistering Operation Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of all blistering and strip packaging activities, procedures and processes as per production schedule & SOP.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will include among others:
·         Operation and maintenance of blister/strip packaging machine and equipment in the packaging section as per SOP
·         Carrying out in-process checks and reporting any discrepancy relating to nature
·         Ensure maintenance of proper housekeeping of blister/strip packaging rooms as per SOP/GMP
·         Keep file, check lists, updating all necessary production records on –line like BMR, downtime, cleaning certificate etc.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A minimum of SSCE.
·         A minimum of five (5) years cognate experience in pharmaceutical Factory.
·         Ability to operate a minimum of three blister/strip packaging machines.
Position: GRANULATION OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR:
The Granulation Operation Supervisor will be responsible for supervision of all granulation activities, procedures and processes (e.g mixing/granulation, drying, sifting,blending, milling etc.) as per production schedule & SOP.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will include among others:
·         Operation and maintenance of granulating machine as per SOP
·         Operation of in-process equipment and reporting any malfunctioning as soon as noticed to the production supervisor/Pharmacist
·         Carry out in-process checks and reporting any discrepancy relating to nature of granules during granulation
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A minimum of SSCE.
·         A minimum of five (5) years cognate experience in pharmaceutical Factory.
·         Ability to operate a minimum of three machines in granulation operations.
Position: INDUSTRIAL NURSE:
The Industrial Nurse will report to HR and Admin Manager and will be responsible for managing the factory clinic in the absence of the visiting doctor.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will include among others:
·         Ensure that factory staff who report ill or injured during working hours are given adequate first aid/treatment and refer serious cases to the company hospital
·         Schedule periodic visits by the company doctor and work with him during such visits.
·         Ensure the factory clinic is well stocked with the requisite medicines/ drugs.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         State registered Nurse/Midwife.
·         A minimum of five (5) years experience preferably in pharmaceutical establishment.
Position: MECHANICAL SUPERVISOR:
The Mechanical Supervisor will report to the Mechanical Engineer and will be responsible for proper maintenance of production machines and equipment to ensure minimum down-time
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Coordinate maintenance of production machines and equipment in the plant
·         Ensure prompt attention to machine breakdowns
·         Carry out mechanical prevention maintenance on all machines and equipment as per schedule
·         Coordinate setting up of machines for various products/batches.
·         Providing mechanical services as may be requested through approved environmental safety standards.
·         Coordinate writing and maintenance of reports and log books
·         Ensures safe keeping of maintenance tools and equipment, as well as maintaining clean working environment.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         OND or Trade Test in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering and a minimum of 10 year’s hands – on exposure, preferably in the pharmaceutical manufacturing
·         Good communication and interpersonal and analytical skills
·         Must be computer literate.
Position: WAREHOUSE OFFICER:
The Warehouse Officer  will report to the Factory Manager and will take responsibility for  the efficient management of the Factory warehouse.
 KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Recipt and documentation of inventory of raw materials, machines and equipment
·         Ensure prompt supply of raw materials to production department as per operational requirements
·         Ensure prompt supply of material, tools and equipment to all support departments.
·         Ensure good warehouse management practices-safe storage of all materials, tools and equipment.
·         Ensure prompt supply of finished goods to sales and Marketing department
·         Facilitate periodic stock taking exercises.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A good Bachelor’s degree /HND in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.
·          Not less than five(5) years cognate experience, hands on experience in planning and budgeting is a basic requirement.
·         Good communication and interpersonal skills, build good relation with both internal and external customers
·         Good level of computer literacy and strong analytical skills.
·         Must be a team player and should be preferably not more than 40 years old.
Position: TECHNICIANS:
The Technicians will report to the various function heads and will be responsible for effective and efficient maintenance of production machines and equipment.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         efficient maintenance of production machines and equipment in the plant
·         prompt resuscitation of broken down machines and equipment
·         Setting up of machines for various products/batches.
·         Providing mechanical services as may be requested through approved environmental safety standards.
·         Maintaining accurate shift maintenance reports/safe keeping of tools and maintaining clean working environment.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         Trade Test/OND/WAEC/C&G Certificate
·         Minimum of 5 years cognate experience in a standard pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
·         Good interpersonal and good team player.
Position: UTILITY TECHNICIANS:
The Utility Technicians will report to the Mechanical Engineer and will be responsible for efficient operation of the utility equipment to provide effective support to the manufacturing processes.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
These will interalia’
·         Ensure availability of water and steam for either heating or sterilization as and when needed
·         Provide constant and adequate compressed air to the plant and the auxiliary department
·         Ensure constant safe dislodge of sewage water and septic tanks and providing and providing any other related services
·         Ensure good working conditions of all materials handling equipment
·         Ensure proper documentation and safe keeping of log books
·         Ensure safe keeping of tools and maintain clean working environment.
 Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         Minimum of Trade Test/OND/WAEC/C&G Certificate
·         Minimum of 5 years hands on experience in management of boilers, air compressors and water treatment.
·         Must be able to read and translate processes diagrams and P& IDs
·         Must have in-depth knowledge of operation and maintenance of Boilers, Air compressors and Water Treatment Plants.
·         Good interpersonal and should be preferably not less than 25 years old.
Position: MACHINE OPERATORS:
i.                    MACHINE OPERATOR: ENCAPSULATION
ii.                  MACHINE OPERATOR: BLISTERING
iii.                MACHINE OPERATOR: COATING
iv.                 MACHINE OPERATOR: TABLET COMPRESSION
v.                   MACHINE OPERATOR: GRANULATION
vi.                 MACHINE OPERATOR: DISPENSING
The responsibility of the Machine Operators will include among others, the operation and maintenance of the machines as per operation schedule and SOP. They will be required to report any malfunctioning as soon as noticed to the Production Supervisor/Pharmacist.
Qualification, Experience and Competences:
·         A minimum of SSCE and three years hands on experience in a pharmaceutical factory
·         Proficient in the operation of the relevant machines
·         Ability to adhere strictly to production processes
·         Commitment to team and pride in team values.
