VACANCIES AT AIDS HEALTHCARE FOUNDATION NIGERIA



AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) is a legally registered NGO operating in Nigeria. AHF-Nigeria collaborates with the Federal Government of Nigeria and other partner institutions, to provide technical assistance to these key stake holders to deliver quality and comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, Care and support, HIV Counseling, and testing, Prevention, Nutrition and Psychosocial services to people living with HIV/AIDS.
To meet above needs, the program wishes to recruit a dynamic skilled committed, self-driven and result –oriented individuals to fill in the following post:
Positions Description:
1.       Job Title:                     Site Coordinator/ART Clinician

Reports to:                                         HIV Technical specialist/CPM
Location:                                              Based in Abuja and Nasarawa State

JOB SUMMARY:
The ART clinician oversees the ART, PMTCT and prevention services of the AHF program at the facility level. This position is crucial to the achievement of AHF Nigeria’s programmatic targets and objectives
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         In close coordination with the facility medical staff, ensure the provision of quality evidence based ART, PMTCT prevention and TB services
·         Coordinate monthly patient cart team meeting
·         Ensure efficient management of AHF’s finances and provide complete timely and accurate reports
·         Implement a continuous quality assurance and improvement program at the site level
·         Ensures that all disseminated protocols are strictly adhered to by site staff
·         Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
·         Implement operational research protocol, to answer important questions within AHF’s treatment and prevention programs.
·         Ensure quality of HIV treatment and TB services at the site.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
·         University graduate in Medicine
·         At least two to three years experience in HIV treatment programs
·         Experience in Program management
·         Experience with operational research and evidence based healthcare is an added advantage
·         Must be highly organized and capable of effective multi-tasking
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
2.       Job Title:                                     ART Nurse/ Prevention Program Coordinator

Lacation:                                                              Based in Benue and Nasarawa
JOB SUMMARY:
The ART Nurse assist the clinician in ensuring smooth implementation of the ART service delivery within the facility. He/she will directly supervise the community HIV prevention programs. This position is crucial to the achievement of AHF Nigeria’s programmatic targets and objectives
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         In close coordination with the facility medical officer, ensure the provision of quality evidence based care in HCT prevention, ART, PMTCT prevention and TB services
·         Provides skilled nursing procedures (i.e. dressing chaanges)
·         Administer medication as orderedd within the scope of practice of the license
·         Perform phletotomy and/or initiates intravenous infusion as ordered
·         Attends and participates in team conference as requested
·         May act as a team leader to assist with the provision and supervision of patient care
·         Charts notes and medication administration according to protocol
·         Provides patient and family education
·         Exercises appropriate judgment and decision making skills
·         Ensures the maintenance of patient confidentiality
·         Reports significant changes in the patient’s physical status to the RN and/or to the medical provider
·         Establish effective linkages and referral of patients within and outside the facility
·         Supervise community program staff and ensure achievement of targets as well as timely preparation and dissemination of reports
·         Ensures that all disseminated protocols are strictly adhered to by site staff
·         Ensure accurate and timely documentation of all services provided
·         Implement operational research protocol, to answer important questions within AHF’s treatment and prevention programs.

3.       Job Title:                                     Laboratory Scientist

Reports to:                                                         Laboratory Manager/site Coordinator
Location:                                                              Based in Benue State
JOB SUMMARY:
To provide Laboratory oversight in AHF site and adherence to standard Laboratory protocols in the country program, involve in training, support supervision, mentorship and team building exercises for other lab staff
Directly supervises Laboratory technicians and other lab staff in running the partes, CD4, Hematology and Chemistry machines. Ensures that high quality of Laboratory services is maintained at all AHF supported healthcare centers within your jurisdiction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Participate in planning, overseeing and supervising activities for the laboratory function for the site
·         Perform basic laboratory assays CD4 test, Hematology and Chemistry, as well as other test as required
·         Oversees laboratory service provision and ensures standard and current practices are in place for maintaining high quality laboratory services and maintaining the use of all resources
·         Ensure compliance and implementation of laboratory protocol, and support other affiliated lab staff, lab technicians, assistants and HIV Medics involved with the lab function
·         Coordinates with all laboratory vendors, outside contractors, and the sites, to ensure that the process of handling patient samples and delivery of results is efficient and effective
·         Perform quality control checks and maintenance for the Partes CD4 Machines in the lab, and other laboratory tests performed within the labs.
·         Partcipates in the development and replication of the AHF Nigeria laboratory protocols and practices at all affiliated healthcare centers, promoting quality of service based on timely reporting of results
·         Participate in training, mentoring and team building exercise for the laboratory staff
·         Participate in inventory control, management for laboratory supplies and reagents under AHF Nigeria for supported sites
·         Participate in EQA proficiency testing activities
·         Ensure the compliance of monthly laboratory inventory at the healthcare centers
·         Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
·         BMLS Medical sciences
·         A minimum of two years of experience in similar position
·         Experience with CD4, hematology and chemistry systems
·         High analytical skills, quality control and basic knowledge of HIV laboratory monitoring.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
4.       Job title:                                      Pharmacy Technician

Reports to:                                                         Pharmacist/Site Coordinator
Location:                                                              Based in Benue and Kogi State
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
·         Answers questions and provides information to patients and provides on drug interaction, side effect, usage and storage of pharmaceuticals
·         Maintain established policies and procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
·         Manages appropriate data collection, such as client name, prescribe medication and cost, to maintain pharmacy’s files, change system and inventory
·         Performs monthly stock count of pharmaceuticals at the clinic  store and outpost stores
·         Supervises the pre-dispensing of prescriptions for clients who are down referred to PHC sites
·         Ensure completion and submission of accurate and auditable monthly drug reports from clinic and outposts.
·         Collaborate with the Pharmacist at the central office to ensure there is adequate stock of Pharmaceuticas at the sites
·         Any other duties as may be assigne by the supervisor.
 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
·         Suitable candidate will be fresh graduate in Pharmacy or related field or Pharmacy technician diploma of school of health technology with 3-5 years experience in use of ARVs and drug logistics.
