UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services
of an experienced Health Specialist who will be responsible for the
development, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and
administration of the Health progamme within the country. Programme accountable
for effective technical and programme support
to facilitate the application and adaptation of UNICEF policies and
Strategies to Achieve strategic priorities and objectives and expansion of UNICEF assisted Health Interventions, including the attainment of the Milennium
Development Goals agenda.
Minimum Qualifications
and Competencies required:
·
Master’s in Public Health and University degree
in Medicine or Nursing/Midwifery or related technical field.
·
Five years of progressively responsible experience
in designing, implementing and evaluating of health projects particularly, safe
motherhood and neonatal care projects. Experience with life Saving Skills
training and practice an advantage
·
Fluency in oral and verbal English is required. Knowledge
of another UN working language an asset. Knowledge of local working language of
the duty station an asset.

Knowledge of the latest development and
technology in related field.
·
Aability to make timely and quality judgements
and decisions and very good training skills
·
Computer skill, including internet navigation
and various office applications
·
Demonstrate ability to work in a multi-cultural
environment and establish harmonious and effective working relationships, both
within and outside the organization
·

UNICEF Nigeria seeks the services
of an experienced Educational Specialist who will provide technical support to
State in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of Education
programme(s) to ensure overall efficiency and effectiveness of the programme
management, delivery and accomplishment of programme goals and objectives. Across
the Education programme (s) accountable for identifying disparities and
development of innovative approaches and programmes for eliminating these
inequalities. Collaborate across the programme(s) to ensure gender
mainstreaming. Ensures that monitoring mechanisms are in place to track
progress towards disparity reduction goals and targets in Education
Qualifications and
Competencies required:
·
Advanced university degree in one or more of the
disciplines relevant to the following areas: Education, Primary Education, or a
Social sciences field relevant to international development assistance.
·
Five years of progressively professional work
experience at national and international levels in field programmes relevant to
Education programmes and or Public Administration experience in national level
development assistance is an asset. Experience with addressing gender
disparities and asset. Background familiarity with emergency
·
Fluency in English and local working language of
the duty station
·
Advanced knowledge of one or more of the
technical areas of UNICEF Education programme
·
Advanced technical knowledge of the theories,
principles and methods in one of the following areas: Education, Primary
Education, Economics, Social Sciences, and related fields.
·
Gender and diversity awareness
·
Leadership in identifying, encouraging and
mentoring capable women
·
Knowledge of global commitment on aid
effectiveness, including the Paris Declaration on Aid effective ness, the Accra
Agenda for Action as well as knowledge of the Global Programme Partnerships
(GPPs)
·
Knowledge of theories and practices in:
Programme/ project management in Education, Monitoring and Evaluation, Training
and capacity development in Education, Alternative Basic Education, Curriculum
Development and Knowledge Management.
