INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL VANCANCY FOR THE POST OF REGISTRAR AND BURSAR



Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the appointment to the posts of Registrar and Bursar of the Federal School of Surveying.
A)     POST OF REGISTRAR:
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer responsible to the Rector/Chief Executive, for the day-to-day administrative of the School. By virtue of this position, the Registrar is Secretary to the Council, the Academic Board and other Committees of Council. He is responsible for keeping all records in the school. He also performs other duties as may be assigned by the Rector.
THE PERSON
The candidates should have over all in depth knowledge of wide exposure to the running of a Tertiary Institution. He/She should be a person of integrity and trust with proven professional and communication proficiency and should be capable of steering the administrative ship of the Registry.

QUALIFICATIONS:
An applicant for the position of Registrar should have a good Bachelor’s degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division) preferably in the Arts, Humanities or Social Sciences with NYSC discharge certificate plus at least (18) years post-qualification cognate experience, or Master’s in the relevant discipline plus at least 16 years post-qualification cognate experience or Doctorate degree in the relevant discipline plus at least 15 years post-qualification cognate experience of which not less than five (5) years should have been in the position of Deputy Registrar. Membership of recognized professional bodies would be an added advantage.
CONDITION OF SERVICE
The conditions of service are as obtainable in Federal Polytechnics in Nigeria. Fringe benefits are as applicable to Principal Officers of similar Institutions.
The Registrar shall hold office for a period of five (5) years from the date of appointment and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment and may be renewed for a for the five (5) years terms only.
The salary attached to the post is consolidated as applicable in the School.
B)      POST OF BURSAR:
The Bursar shall be responsible to the Rector for the day-to-day financial administration and control of the financial affairs of the School. The person is responsible for the smooth running of the Bursary department, plans, organizes, directs and coordinates the operation of the financial system of the School. The person holding the office of Bursar of the School shall, by virtue of the office, participate in the total life of the School. He/she must be creative and innovative, and must possess ability to generate ideas that will move the School forward.
QUALIFICATIONS
Applicants for the post should have a good Honours degree (minimum of Second Class Lower Division)  or its equivalent in Accounting or Finance obtained from recognized institution of higher learning plus NYSC discharge certificate. Candidates must possess at least eighteen (18) years post-qualification cognate experience, of which not less than five (5) years should have been in the position of Chief Accountant plus registration with ICAN, ANAN or any other recognized Professional Accountancy body. Possession of relevant higher degree would be an added advantage.

The Bursar shall hold office for a period of five (5) years from the date of appointment and on such terms and conditions as may be specified in the letter of appointment and may be renewed for a firthe five (5) years terms only.

All applications are to be submitted in an envelope marked with the post applied for which should reach the Rector, Federal School of Survey, P.M.B 1024, Oyo, Oyo State on or before six (6) weeks from the date of this publication. In addition, candidates are required to ask their respective three (3) referees to send confidential reports on them to the same address.
